About

Amy Hannah, 24 year old photographer from Northern Ireland, has carved a unique path in the art world. Starting with a background in Moving Image Arts, she shifted her focus from filmmaking to photography, developing a keen eye for capturing moments through her lens.

In 2022, she graduated from Belfast School of Art (Ulster University) with a Bachelor of Arts With Honours Degree in Photography with Video, followed by a Postgraduate in Audiovisual Post-Production at Queens University. Her graduation marked the beginning of her professional journey, which quickly gained momentum when she was honoured with the 2022 Graduate Award by the University of Atypical. This accolade led to her first solo exhibition, ‘Epitaph,’ which was showcased as part of the Belfast Photo Festival's 2023 program under the theme of 'Journeys.'

Hannah's most recent project, 'Have You Tried A Cup Of Tea And A Hot Bath?', funded by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland/National Lottery Fund For Good Causes, debuted at the John Luke Gallery (Arts For All Belfast) in early 2025.

Her work predominantly features self-portrait photography, a choice driven by the autobiographical nature of her projects. By placing herself within the images, she communicates personal stories and emotions, offering viewers an intimate glimpse into her artistic and personal journey.
